June is in the middle of the big rain season of Suriname. Expect rainy conditions or at least wet running terrain.
You can reach the Berlijn Savanna from Paramaribo by driving to the Johan Adolf Pengel International Airport. When you reach the airport, you continue by following the road "Weg naar Kraka". Almost 6km after the airport, you make a right turn in the marked savanna road where you will drive 1km before you reach your destination. There will be plenty of parking space, but we still recommend carpooling!
This is the first race of the TESC Savanna Run Series. The 10k route is an out and back course, which means you run 5k till the turning point, then run the same route back to the starting point. About 70% of the route is (partially) under the trees, so there will be plenty of shade, but also a lot of water. Elevation is not significant. The running surface will be almost entirely (white) savanna sand. A small part of the route will follow an old railroad.
